Traditions – H

When a couple gets married and discover they have different holiday traditions, do they only follow one persons traditions and discard the others? Or do they sit down and talk about those traditions which ones to keep which ones to modify to fit with their new family?

The sign language for tradition is similar to the sign language for chains! Tradition can bind us by keeping us close minded!

If someone comes to your faith and they carry with them faith traditions that aren’t of your faith yet those faith traditions are “noble, of good report or praise worthy” are you going to ask them to leave that faith tradition at your door. Or are you going to find a way to adapt and be open to incorporating it in to your faith in a way that still honors your faith? I believe the later is ZION! There are so many faith traditions I can’t wait to experience and be apart of, once Zion is established.

We need to open our hearts, open our minds to those truths, those nuggets God has left with other faiths for us to experience. Not to have it change our faith but to have it deepen and widen our own faith. God loves ALL His children and He has left beautiful truths and faith customs that we should be seeking after. That is what is taught to us in Philippians 4:8 “Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy. We seek after these things.” We should be seeking truths from others and sharing our own truths. That is how ZION happens!
