Five wise had their lamps filled and were able to make it to the Bridegroom Feast. Five foolish didn’t have enough oil in their lamps and when they arrived late, Christ said He knew them not!
What does the lamp represent in this parable? How about the oil? Who are the virgins?
I believe the lamp represents our hearts and the oil represents the pure love of Christ.
Fear puts a heart wall up, preventing His love from entering your heart. It’s like sticking a lid on the lamp. His love will still flow freely to you yet none of it enters in your heart. Therefore fear keeps your lamp empty.
I see so many full of fear around me, they live in it and aren’t even aware fear is what is ruling their actions. It’s frustrating, but I get it!! I know fear better than any other emotion. I have trained myself to recognize it and dispel it as soon as I am able to. With Christ’s healing love, you too can rid yourself from letting fear control your life!
I encourage you to listen closely to the emotions of those teaching you… What emotion is being presented to you? If it comes from a need to control your actions, it is fear! FEAR IS NOT OF GOD!
I have worked my butt off to rid fear from my life, it still creeps in, but I recognize it and get on my knees and work to rid myself of it and replace it with His love.
I want my lamp full when He comes! I want others to see His light shining in me. I want them to feel His love through my actions. I’m not perfect at this I fall short every day! Today included.
