As a Christian, I have often pondered the scripture, “If ye are not one, ye are not mine”.
What does it mean to “be one”. We are all different, we all have different views or different perspectives. But we should be one in helping others or supporting others.
The world wants us to not be one.
Covid forced us to isolate and distance.
Different faiths divide us, even among Christians.
Political views further divide us.
How can we overlook what divides us and see the overwhelming blessings that unite us. See the beauty in our diversity. Look for commonalities. Just love others.
My wife and I have decided to host a singing event in our home town. We have been to several other faiths to see how they worship, how they sing praising Christ. We have fallen in love with some of the faith traditions and want to incorporate them into our traditions.
So we have pulled together singers/choirs from 5 different faiths and will each be singing hymns that are dear to each. We hope and pray that the Lord accepts our offering and lets His spirit dwell at the event. Oh how exciting and terrifying at the same time. I can see it going so very well.
