Our Stake President sent out a letter to his congregation. He gave the members a goal for the year, “We will give the Lord our Firstfruits.” He has asked all of us to “prayerfully ponder what firstfruits in your life the Lord would have you offer to Him this year that He may pour out even greater blessings upon you. Then humbly offer Him those things if you have not already done so.”
This gave me chills when I read it. It is so clear and direct and loving and motivating.
My wife and I have been considering many deep changes in our lives over the last year. It seems fitting to now consider what to offer Him. Most of the “ADDING to our lives” and “LETTING GO out of our lives” have been worked on for awhile. And this invitation helps start afresh.
I am so thankful to have inspired leaders help Shepherd us to come closer to Him.
Today I had been pondering much of our changes and new direction. Praying to know better His will. I spent the better part of the day questioning, wanting to hear an answer.
I had finished my work painting the apartment and walked home. As I arrived, my girls were watching a movie called “Facing the Giants”. I walked in at the point the team was playing and won their last game. The coach would repeatedly ask the team members a question, “What is IMPOSSIBLE to God?” Each players would respond, “Nothing is IMPOSSIBLE to God!”
“What is IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD?” “NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD” I heard this more than a dozen times in 5 min. What more of a direct answer could I have gotten! I am amazed that my answer had a sense of humor to it. Fitting for how many times I ASKED!
