Do you feel tired, off balance, in search of something to be whole, or broken? Have you tried Inner Child work, shadow work, or other forms of therapy just to fix yourself? After all that, are you still pondering what else could be wrong?
Have you ever tried just being OK with who you are? Have you ever tried just LOVING all of you?
I recently listened to a podcast where the speaker referenced the movie InSide Out, the one where all the emotions are inside controlling things. Think of all the emotions inside, Joy, Disgust, Sadness, Anger, Fear, Anxiety, Boredom, Embarrassment, Envy. Now take a piece of paper and make two lists, BAD Emotion and Good Emotion. Now put the emotions in the appropriate column.
Now take a look at the list and pretend each emotion is one of your children. You as a parent just segregated your children into your favorites and your despised children. Would you really segregate your kids that way? Of course not. We are supposed to love each of our children the same, but differently.
If we change the way we love our emotions, we will see the joy in each one of them. We will embrace sadness, we will educate anxiety, we will bring knowledge to fear, we will show beauty to disgust, we bring admiration to envy. If we learn to love our emotions and let them be felt, we can again feel whole.
