Zion – H

I have had this drive… Desire… Every fiber of my being wants ZION.

The word Zion occurs over 150 times in the Bible. In the Old Testament Zion refers figuratively to Israel as the people of God (Isaiah 60:14). In the New Testament, Zion refers to God’s spiritual kingdom. Peter, quoting Isaiah 28:16, refers to Christ as the Cornerstone of Zion: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” (1 Peter 2:6).

To me Zion means my heart & my mind are connected to God’s heart and God’s mind. The way I know how to do this, show this, live this is by trying to look at others through Gods eyes… Try to see what He sees.

God loves and has spoken to His children through all the ages of time. I love studying different faiths, their traditions and faith customs, it helps me see truth from a different perspective and it opens my heart to more understanding of God’s love.

I believe respecting and loving others and their faith is part of showing your love back to God, which ultimately is Zion.

Me & Matthew have been taking an online religion class “Holy Envy”. This is their description of the course: “Living in Holy Envy is finding what is good, holy, and beautiful about the different faith traditions and beliefs of others. With this course, you’ll form a foundational understanding of 11 different religions around the world to connect deeper with your own faith and the faith of others.”

I have also fallen in love with the faith traditions of others. The Christian churches around me have beautiful Praise Worship. They always stand to sing, that is how they show their love and respect towards God. When they sing their whole soul is praising Christ. It’s beautiful. I “Holy Envy” their praise worship so much.

I have been contemplating the parable of the Master and the Feast. Where the Master of the house prepares a big banquet he first invites his friends and family but many give excuses saying they are too busy to come. Then he invites strangers and outcasts (misfits hehehe) and they come and fill his home. I believe this parable not only has to do with the Kingdom of God but also with establishing Zion.

How will Christ get “Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess” at His coming, when most of the world doesn’t see Christ as God?

I love God! I know God loves ALL His children and I believe He has prepared a way for those that want and desire to return to Him in any and all faiths that have a connection to God. He is the author of truth and the most important universal truth is “Love one Another.”
